Nancy Knowlton was born on February 26, 1957, in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Her parents were Leroy and Sara Knowlton. She also had a little sister named Cathleen who passed in her youth.
She is survived by her sister, Martha Reeves; brother, Edward Knowlton; nephew, Seth Reeves; niece, Amanda Reeves; brother-in-law, David Reeves and family of choice, Haunani and Tylor Ryan.
Nancy spent most of her childhood life in Anchorage, Alaska and later moved to Washington State. She lived her final years in Omak, Washington where she leaves many friends and students who love her very much.
Nancy received her Master’s in Humanities in 2014 and was an English Professor for Wenatchee Valley Community College in Omak.
Nancy wished for her ashes to be spread in the Pacific Ocean and the family will be honoring her wishes in a private ceremony.
The family will conduct a Celebration of Life in Omak on Sunday, September 3rd at Alma Park by the Gazebo.
Nancy was a Daughter, Big-sister, Godmother, and Aunt and her friends know her as having been a loving and caring person with a heart of gold.
Her students will remember her as a professor who loved English and Humanities. She brought stories alive in the classroom and challenged her students to understand the arts. Here is a quote from Nancy’s favorite actress, Barbra Streisand: “Art does not exist only to entertain, but also to challenge one to think, to provoke, even to disturb, in a constant search for truth.”
