Evelyn Ruth Simonson

Evelyn Ruth Simonson, 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Apple Springs Assisted Living in Omak, Washington, on Oct. 28, 2013.
She was born in Saskatchewan, Canada, to George and Amelia Simonson on Nov. 14, 1920. She was one of ten children.
Evelyn graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, Minnesota in 1940. She became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1945.
During World War II, she served her country by working in a factory making ammunition for the troops. Most of her adult years were spent in Minnesota and Michigan working in the automotive industry.
Evelyn enjoyed spending time with her family and participating in various church activities.
In 2004, she moved to Spokane to live with her sister, Gladys and in 2006 she moved to Apple Springs in Omak.
Evie was known for her sweet gentle nature and her strong faith in God.
She was an inspiration to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Stanley, Albert, Norman and Reuben; and her sister, Margaret.
She is survived by her sister, Gladys Gilmer in Spokane; and her brothers, Clifford and Gerald Simonson in Michigan; and Raymond Simonson in North Dakota. She has numerous nieces and nephews.
Her memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at the Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel in Okanogan, Wash.
