OKANOGAN Utility considers dam contract
OKANOGAN – The Okanogan County Public Utility District commissioners will consider a proposed contract renewal Monday with GEI Consultants, Inc. for work on Enloe Dam.
Utility commissioners approved $150,000 for legal services with Davis, Wright and Tremaine LLP, as well as Duncan, Weinberg, Genzer and Pembroke PC, during their Jan. 13 meeting.
Consulting contracts were postponed until the utility knew if American Whitewater would appeal the 50-year dam license.
Other agenda items include a resolution to declare some equipment as surplus and two presentations from Ted Sorenson and John Christensen.
The meeting begins at 2:30 p.m. with a half-hour executive session, and reopens to the public at 3 p.m. Meetings take place at utility headquarters, 1331 S. Second Ave.
County to host public hearing
OKANOGAN – Okanogan County commissioners will begin their weekly meetings with a legislative update at 9 a.m. Monday in the commissioners’ hearing room, 123 N. Fifth Ave.
Commissioners will hear an update at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday from the Okanogan County Superior Court judges, followed by an 11:30 a.m. public hearing on a utility franchise request for Silver Spur Resort north of Brewster, and discussions with the Methow Watershed Council and Regional Transportation Planning Office.
The board plans to travel to Ferry County on Friday for a 10 a.m. meeting with the quad county commissioners at the fairgrounds’ carousel building, located three miles east of Republic on state Highway 20.
Equipment buy on agenda
BREWSTER – Three Rivers Hospital commissioners will meet at noon Monday in the Hillcrest House administration building, 415 Hospital Way.
Agenda items include a request for gynecological equipment at a quoted cost of $8,350; a resolution to cancel about $1,700 in outstanding warrants from seven accounts that are more than one year old; and routine staff reports.
School board to hear reports
OMAK – The Omak School Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the district office, 619 W. Bartlett St.
The board will hear a variety of reports, consider two resignations and a retirement, hear fiscal and enrollment reports and consider several policy adoptions.
Election of a Wenatchee Valley College at Omak Foundation board member is on the agenda, as is declaring a bus surplus. A first reading of the proposed emergency preparedness plan and procedures will be considered.
Planning sessions slated
OKANOGAN – One planning commission meets Monday, while another has canceled its next meeting.
The Okanogan County Planning Commission meets at 7 p.m. Monday at 123 N. Fifth Ave.
The Omak Planning Commission’s Feb. 5 meeting has been canceled for lack of agenda items.
The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. March 5 at City Hall, 2 N. Ash St.
Twisp meeting rescheduled
TWISP – The regular Town Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday has been canceled.
The council will instead host a special meeting at 3 p.m. Monday in Town Hall, 118 S. Glover St., to approve payroll and minutes from the December meetings.
Brewster sets special meeting
BREWSTER – The City Council will host a special meeting at noon Tuesday to discuss an energy grant and energy audit results for upcoming projects.
The council meets at City Hall, 105 Third St.
School board to meet
OKANOGAN – The Okanogan School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the superintendent’s office, 115 Rose St.
