Bridgeport wins shootout

Tonasket blanks Jackrabbits, 6-0

— Bridgeport took a 1-0 win over Manson following a shootout in a Central Washington 2B League soccer match Oct. 19.

Neither team scored in regulation and two overtimes.

Scoring in the shootout was not received.

Liberty Bell (7-6 overall, 3-1 league) is at Bridgeport (10-1, 4-0) on Thursday, Oct. 24.

TONASKET – Tonasket blanked Quincy, 6-0, in a Caribou Trail League match Oct. 19.

Scoring was not received.

Cascade (9-3, 9-1) is at Tonasket (8-4, 6-4) on Saturday, Oct. 26.

BREWSTER – Cascade shut out Brewster, 3-0, in a tight league match Oct. 19.

“We played extremely hard,” Brewster coach Alex Sanchez said. “We make a few mistakes that allowed them to score, but overall I was very happy with the effort.”

Brewster (5-7 overall, 4-6 league) is at Quincy (2-10, 2-8) on Thursday, Oct. 24.

CASHMERE – Okanogan put up a good fight before succumbing 4-0 to league-leading Cashmere on Oct. 17.

“We actually played pretty good,” Okanogan coach Dean Klepec said.

Cashmere led 1-0 at the half.

“In the first half, we played very good defense and had a few offensive opportunities,” Klepec said. “In the second half, we had more offensive opportunities and the girls played hard right up until the end.”

Chelan (2-9 overall, 1-8 league) is at Okanogan 7-5, 6-4) in a rescheduled match at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23.

TONASKET – Tonasket used some sharp shots on goal to explode to an 11-0 win over Oroville in a non-league match Oct. 17.

Kathryn Cleman got the scoring going with a shot that struck the far upright and rebounded into the net.

Norma Ornelas split two defenders for a goal, Cleman sent a shot over the goalkeeper’s head, Kylee Dillinger scored and Cleman tapped to Dellinger for a 5-0 halftime lead.

Scoring in the second half were Rose Walts, Dellinger, Christa McCormick and two goals by Cleman.

Entiat (4-7 overall, 2-2 league) is at Oroville (2-8, 1-3) on Thursday, Oct. 24.

Cascade (9-3, 9-1) is at Tonasket (8-4, 6-4) and Oroville is at Manson (0-9, 0-3) on Saturday, Oct. 26.

OMAK – Brewster edged Omak, 2-1, in a league match Oct. 17.

Veronica Arrez and Daisy Gonzales scored for Brewster, which finished with 10 shots on goal.

“Our defense played great,” Brewster coach Alex Sanchez said.

Scoring was not received for Omak.

Brewster (5-7 overall, 4-6 league) is at Quincy (2-10, 2-8) and Chelan (2-9, 1-8) is at Okanogan (7-5, 6-4) on Thursday, Oct. 24.

WENATCHEE – Bridgeport topped Wenatchee C-squad, 2-1, in a non-league match Oct. 17.

Jenny Salazar scored in the first half, which ended with the teams tied, 1-1.

The match stayed that way until penalty kicks, which the Fillies won.

LIBERTY BELL – Liberty Bell blanked Manson, 5-0, in a league match Oct. 17.
