REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS FOR PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES FERRY STREET SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT CITY OF BREWSTER

The City of Brewster (pursuant to Chapter 61, Laws of 1981) is requesting Statements of Qualifications from qualified firms interested in providing professional engineering and surveying services for the design of a Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Project along West Ferry Avenue. Scope of Work: Provide civil engineering and surveying services for the design of the project including but not limited to: a topographic survey, plans, specifications, estimates, environmental/permitting documents, advertisement, bid and award. This is a SRTS federally funded project through the Department of Transportation. As a result, a number of state and federal equal opportunity and affirmative action requirements will apply to the selection process and conduct of this project.

Questions regarding this request should be directed in writing up to five days prior to date of submission to: William Lawson, Public Works Director.

Interested firms should submit four original copies of their qualifications in a sealed envelope by December 20, 2013 and addressed to:

Response to the request for qualifications shall include the following information, format and order:

  1. Letter of Interest: Cover letter of interest in this project.

  2. Basic Information: Firm name, address, phone number, year of establishment and type of ownership.

  3. Staffing: Total Staff, staff to be assigned to the project, composition of the design team, qualifications and experience.

  4. Experience of Firm: Experience with transportation projects for the City of Brewster.

  5. Availability: Discussion of your firm’s workload and plans to fit the needs of the City project into your workload.

  6. References: Submit no less than five references that can be contacted regarding your firm’s service. Please include name, address and phone number of contact person.

Submittals will be evaluated and ranked based on the following criteria:

  1. Key personal; 2. Firm experience with PS and E; 3. Approach to the project; 4. Familiarity with FHWA, WSDOT, City of Brewster and other relevant codes and standards; 6. Past performance /references.

The City of Brewster reserves the right to retain the services of the successful firm for any and all subsequent phases of this project.
