Sunbanks Blues Festival runs May 16-19

ELECTRIC CITY – The Sunbanks Rhythm and Blues Festival will be May 16-19 at Sunbanks Resort, 17662 state Highway 155.

The entertainment lineup includes:

• Thursday, May 16 – Randy Norris, 8 p.m.; Two Scoops Moore, 9 p.m.; Bill Mattocks Trio, 10 p.m.; 24th Street Wailers, 11 p.m.

• Friday, May 17 – The Muddy Sons, 5 p.m.; The Rectifiers, 6:30 p.m.; Rich Layton and the Troublemakers, 8 p.m.; 24th Street Wailers, 9:30 p.m.; Big Mumbo, 11 p.m.

• Saturday, May 18 – 9 Pound Hammer, 1 p.m.; JunkBelly, 2:30 p.m.; Trevalyan Triangle, 4 p.m.; Arsen Shomakhov, 5:30 p.m.; Lloyd Jones Struggle, 7 p.m.; The Love Dogs, 9 p.m.; Terry Hanck, 11 p.m.

• Sunday, May 19 – James Coates, 1 p.m.; Wes Mackey Trio, 2:30 p.m.; Kim Field and the Mighty Titans of Tone, 4 p.m.; The Black Lillies, 5:30 p.m.; The Duffy Bishop Band, 7:30 p.m.

Admission will be charged.

Adults get ‘Disco Fever’ for benefit

WINTHROP – A “Disco Fever” event to benefit Little Star Montessori Preschool is planned for 5 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at the school, 509 state Highway 20.

The adults-only event includes a catered dinner, silent auction and disco dancing.

Admission will be charged.

The school serves 67 children from ages 2-6.
